Overview
The Precision OS Dashboard is a sophisticated analytics platform designed for medical professionals using virtual reality for surgical training. The dashboard provides detailed tracking of performance metrics, learning progress, and certification status for medical procedures performed in VR environments.
Challenge
The existing dashboard was built with outdated technologies that limited functionality and scalability. Performance issues were affecting user experience, with slow API response times causing frustration among medical professionals.
Solution
We completely modernized the codebase by converting from jQuery to React for the frontend, while also migrating parts of the API to GraphQL for more efficient data fetching. Component-based architecture with Storybook was implemented to ensure consistency and speed up development of new features.
Results
The optimization efforts resulted in a 50% reduction in API response times, significantly enhancing user satisfaction scores by 15%. The new React-based interface provided a more intuitive experience for medical professionals, while the GraphQL implementation allowed for more precise data retrieval.
